We stopped by to see our friends at the L.A. print shop Shirt Agency to show you a few great ways to incorporate specialty ink on this season’s hottest T-shirt trends.

When metallic ink is printed and left to dry, the metallic particles rise to the surface, reflecting light and creating a metallic sheen. This ink is great on our speciality fabrics! During our visit at Shirt Agency, we paired bronze metallic ink on our new neutral Slub colors. Slub is a really soft, vintage looking fabric, so we thought it would be cool to pair this with the unexpected element of metallic ink! There’s a lot of buzz right now in the screen printing world about reflective ink, which is an ink that is invisible to the naked eye, but shows up in photos when you take a flash. At Shirt Agency, we tried a single pass silver print on our new Black Heather tee, which looked like a vintage print, but showed up great in the light! Foil isn’t exactly a specialty ink, but rather a cool effect we love. Pink tees are a big trend for both guys and girls right now, so we tested out a tonal foil print using rose gold foil on our new peach and mauve T-shirts.It’s important to decide exactly what date you need the shirts in hand by, so that you know when to get started on other parts of the project. When to start can change depending on how much you have prepared before you talk to a screen printing service. If you know exactly how you’d like the shirts designed, and have design illustrations available in a transferable format, you’ve already got a head start. If not, don’t worry! Good
Size seems the same as the old one I bought a few years ago, fits the same, though the tag is different. Fabric seems a little thinner, but not by much- I might not have noticed if I wasn’t looking for it. Black one says 100% cotton on the tag.

Good for price. Bargain/novelty use, medium to medium/light weight.
Good for general or novelty use, but these are not heavy-weight like upper-end graphic tees. If you want good and heavy t-shirts for work, these are not it.
For embroidering, these do need more stabilizing than the white heavy-duty t-shirts you can get at a certain warehouse store, but I needed a good choice of colors. The colors are rich and the ones I’ve received have had no blotches and the seams have been solid. But I do check every shirt before I work on it.
These do begin to show wear/age after 5-6 washings, but if you just need smart-looking shirts for events like workshops and birthdays, these will do!
